Title:
Abducted Grey

Details:
4'x2'x1.5'

Currently at the apartment of the artist in Brooklyn.

This depicts a well-known modern day icon that almost as many people believe in as Jesus. When I was a child, searching for something magical in the world, I would stare at the night sky for hours, waiting to be abducted as proof that something beyond our knowledge existed. Since it never happened, I decided to capture my own, personal alien on my own terms. Originally I had intended to sell this sculpture to radio host Art Bell, thinking such a sale would lead to instant publicity. Though I actually did talk to Art on the phone, he never took me up on my offer so it never quite happened.

This piece is unique in that it represents my first asymmetrical free-standing work, and the stance is contra-postule like the sculptures of the Greeks. The ape body within alludes to a possible common link between humans and aliens.
