Reminiscent of the
paintings of Archimbaldo or Dali, the features of George Washington's
portrait appear most similar to the actual dollar-bill only from a very
specific head-on vantage point in which the two helmets within the eyesockets
align to become irises.
Hung well above eye-level,
this effect can be achieved from numerous positions: standing a few feet
away, kneeling a few feet further back, or sitting a few feet further
again. Any divergence from this particular angle results in varying degrees
of distortion.
