LIke a cross between a loofa and an Egyptian war tablet, the entire dollar bill is composed of layers upon layers of plastic objects organized in multiple systematic fashions. I like the fact that the entire sculpture is petroleum based and non-biodegradable. The background of the piece is a structure built from long rows of soldiers, arranged to mimic DNA strands, then twisted into double-helix shapes and cinched tightly together. The overall effect of the ensuing pillars is the creation of a strong yet suprisingly light framework for the inner and outer elements.
